According to the 2022 census, 964,600 people out of the total permanent population of Kyrgyzstan were in labor migration. The National Statistical Committee provided such data.

It is noted that 77,400 people were absent from their permanent place of residence for family reasons, 41,400 — in connection with their studies, 11,100 — for other reasons.

Of the total number of those temporarily absent, 876,900 people left Kyrgyzstan, and 217,600 migrated within the country. The main part of those who were outside the republic (872,900 people) left for the CIS countries, 4,000 — for far abroad countries.
