Cases of influenza A (H3N2), which is also known as the Hong Kong flu, have been detected in Uzbekistan.
This was reported at a press conference of the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health on Gazeta.uz reports.
This flu was detected through patient analysis by the committee’s regional laboratories.
2.2 million doses of the vaccine were used to protect against influenza A (H3N2), which was given to teachers, medical workers and residents of charity homes, as well as some children at risk, before the start of the epidemic season.
In addition, 4 cases of the H1N1 virus, known as “swine flu”, have been detected in Uzbekistan since the beginning of the year.
The incidence of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) among the population decreased by 25.5% and by 25.4% in Tashkent last week compared to the previous week, Committe’s First Deputy Chairman Nurmat Atabekov reported.
The incidence rate of ARVI is 34.3% below the epidemic threshold.
When analyzing children’s incidence of ARVI by age group, the highest incidence rate was registered among children under the age of 1. The morbidity rate is 368.3 per 100,000 children of the same age, noted Nurmat Atabekov.
To treat patients with flu and ARVI, 8,838 places have been allocated throughout the country, where 6,000 patients are being treated, said the first deputy chairman.
