The CIS countries should act as a united front on all issues, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan Kamchybek Tashiev told the media on 14 December, BelTA has learned.
According to Kamchybek Tashiev, the situation in the world is changing rapidly and it is crucial to present timely responses.
“It is necessary to prevent discord between our countries. The CIS countries should act as a united front on all issues, especially on the security of our countries,” he said.
Minsk is hosting a meeting of the heads of security and intelligence services of the CIS member states these days. Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with the heads of special services of the CIS countries on 14 December.
KGB Chairman Ivan Tertel told the media earlier that such events help the parties discuss joint actions and share experience. “This platform is very often used to discuss acute problems. Calm work on these platforms let us find and implement appropriate solutions to ensure security in our states,” Ivan Tertel said.
