The Kyrgyzstan Schoolboys & Schoolgirls National Championships will be the country’s next highlight in the boxing schedule. The country earned its first ever bronze medal in the Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships and their boxers in all age groups are ready to show their skills in the upcoming events.
The date of the next Kyrgyzstan Schoolboys & Schoolgirls National Championships is June 23-27 and the capital city, Bishkek will be the host of the competition. Boxers who were born in 2009 or in 2010, will be eligible to participate in the Kyrgyzstan Schoolboys & Schoolgirls National Championships.
Some of the titleholders are still in this age group and will be travelling to Bishkek to defend their thrones in end of June. The management of the Kyrgyz Boxing Federation expects the participation of more than 250 young talents in the national event. The regional selections for the National Championships are under progress in the regions of the Kyrgyz Republic
All of the official 14 schoolboys weight categories will be in action in the male part of the national event. The women’s boxing is in developing stage in Kyrgyzstan and their youngest female talents have the potential to keep the level of the boys.
The best Kyrgyz talents in this age group competed in a competition, at the Murat Abdukadyrov Memorial Tournament which was held in the city of Dzhalal-Abad for the very first time. Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan were the best countries in the new international schoolboys tournament in Dzhalal-Abad. Their next generation contains several talents from all regions of Kyrgyzstan, but Bishkek, Osh, Dzhalal-Abad, the Chui region, the Talas region and the Naryn region are the leaders of their boxing life. The event is selection for the ASBC Asian Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships which will be held later this year.
